New Providence Baptist Church started as a mission work under the authority of Bryan Station Baptist Church, Lexington, KY on October 1, 1969. The mission work began in Bourbon County Kentucky in the community of Clintonville.
With prayer and leadership of the Holy Spirit, the church at Bryan Station asked Brother John Redmon to pastor the mission in Bourbon County and he accepted. The work continued as a mission until it was organized on February 25, 1972 with twenty charter members.
In early 1980 services began being held in a new building that is still used today for worship. Pastor Redmon continued to faithfully serve the Lord, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and watch over the saints at New Providence until the Lord called him home to glory on October 21, 2014.
On May 29, 2015 Brother Josiah Spears, from Lexington, KY was called as the full time pastor.
